Mark Your Calendars for GothiCon 2013

Pay attention…one of the coolest things that I have seen happen in a long time… GothiCon. Without getting into all the messy arguments about what is and isn’t real goth, let the arguing fall on deaf ears and let the music sink deeply into your black, shadowy little souls! Break out the eye liner and the black lipstick because the festival is coming together. I don’t know who is putting this on, and I know nothing other than the confirmed acts are Grave Robber, the return of Rackets and Drapes, BridgeShadows, Leper, Dark Valentine, and none other than the Goth Father himself, Brian Healy and Dead Artist Syndrome! There promises to be bands, speakers and good times for all the participants involved. Check out the Facebook page for up to date info…and start dancing, dancing without touching of course! (yes, that is a DAS reference)

According to recent reports from Steve, Dead Artist Syndrome is not over. Brian Healy has been going through some health issues (keep him in your prayers), but is doing better and has vowed to keep recording. For those that didn’t know, Brian Healy, Joey Taylor, Ric Alba, Gym Nicholson, John Picarri, and Riki Michele have all been in the studio is recent months working on a new D.A.S. album. Currently, the best place to get updates on Healy’s health and D.A.S. news is on Brian’s FaceBook.

Issue # 4 is Out! The Goth Issue Lives!

Finally, after a few delays, the Goth Issue of DTL is out.  Check our intense cover story with the Godfather of Christian Goth himself – Brian Healy of Dead Artist Syndrome.  Also check out interviews with BATTZ in the Belfry, I-Dragon-I, and Seventh Cricle – as well as a review of The Crucified reunion concert in California.  Well, okay – The Crucified is not anywhere near Goth, but Joshua Lory was able to see this awesome show and we had to print the review along with pics.

Plans are currently underway for issue 5, as well as a possible special issue before that.  We are still working on a way to start email subscriptions for new issues, as well as some other interesting new stuff.  If you haven’t joined our fan page on FaceBook, or started following us on Twitter – you should start soon.  We post breaking news as well as cool finds on those services – so join us in this fancy new Web 2.0 thing.
