SLIDE CD Release Party Is Just Around The Corner

February 11, 2012

To me, March 21, 2012 was so far away when SLIDE announced it as the release date for their debut CD nearly a year ago. But time flew and the new SLIDE album is about to be unleashed on the world. Trust me, this one is worth the wait. Tickets to the release party at Club 33 / Disneyland are sold out. But if you want to see them live, there are other opportunities. See the SLIDE live page for dates (including one at the famous Whiskey a Go Go). And keep a look out for Auto Tune Massacre.

SLIDE Updates Their Sound Slightly For New Album

This update from the SLIDE camp, with details on the new sonic direction their debut ablum will take:

An update on the band’s debut release. There will be 10 tracks plus 3 remixes from Mdavisto for a total of 13 tracks. The sound of SLIDE from the band’s earlier demos has changed dramatically. More alternative rock, harder edge. Except for the remixes, the songs have moved from an electronic focus to a band based alternative rock focus.

Sounds great to me – alternative rock with a harder edge is exactly what I love.

The new SLIDE website is now up and running – designed to match the look and feel of their upcoming debut album.  There is a lot to see now, but the future will also bring an exclusive members-only area and more merchandise.  Speaking of the debut album, looks like March 13, 2012 will be the official release date.  That is over a year away, but also gives the band plenty of time to get the songs just right.  So far the plans are the have 10 tracks and at least 3 additional remixes.

Slide has been a bit quiet recently, but it seems plans have been in the works for a while:

SlideMusicGroup.com Re-Launch

In early 2011, Slide will re-launch their website in preparation of their debut release. Everything about the website is changing including easier navigation, new pictures, new store, updated news, features etc. Look for it to be re-launched sometime in first quarter of 2011. Coming up soon: Updated News on the album release party at Disneyland’s Club 33 in Anaheim, California where you will have a chance to win a pair of tickets to celebrate the bands first release. So much stuff is happening, and we are so glad to have you in the loop. Thanks for being patient with us over the years. The release will be worth the wait.

SLIDE welcomes Chris Berry and Jeff Lantry to the lineup

Chris Berry and Jeff Lantry have signed on as official members of Slide and will round out the band’s 4 piece lineup. Chris Berry has actually been playing lead guitar with Slide since 2009, and can be seen in the band’s video for Dime Store Queer. Jeff Lantry will be playing bass and came on board a few months ago as a welcome new edition. Both Chris and Jeff, along with James Preston and Mike Baker, will be featured on their debut release.
