77s Unplugged “Guadalupe” Tour & Michael Roe Kickstarter Campaign

April 17, 2013

Lo-Fidelity Records is pleased to announce the 77s Unplugged “Guadalupe” promotional tour, and upcoming Michael Roe Kickstarter campaign….
“The number 13 is a lucky number for some. For others, it may be ominous or foreboding. As I entered the year 2013, I realized that it had been 13 years since the passing of my beloved friend Gene Eugene. I suddenly waxed nostalgic as I recalled rumors of Gene’s unfinished Adam Again album to be titled “Guadalupe” and how it inspired me to write a song with that same name. The lyric is filled with remembrance and longing for my grandfather and all the places we went fishing together, but somehow the song was about Gene as well. Upon rehearing, it reminded me of so much unfinished business we have with others, ourselves and our life’s work — things we should or could have done but never got around to. This certainly applies to many songs I’ve recorded over the years that I felt I could have represented better or with a different approach. At this point in my life, that usually means simpler, with less clutter and ornamentation.

Michael Roe Releases “Guadalupe” and The 77s Unplugged Tour

Lo-Fidelity Records is pleased to announce the upcoming release of Michael Roe’s new solo album, “Guadalupe”….

Recently, I asked a bunch of my Facebook fans to share with me what songs of mine had meant something important to them. The response was overwhelming, as were the stories about why certain tunes had an impact. This inspired me to revisit some of them in a quieter, simpler way. We can’t change the past, but if we try, we can sometimes change the way we feel about it. Some things never get done, but sometimes we can do for others the things they left undone. “Guadalupe” is my attempt at doing just that for myself, my grandfather, Gene Eugene and all of you…” ~~ Michael Roe

The album will be available on tour starting Friday, April 5th, 2013, and online, Tuesday, April 9th, 2013. Complete info on track-listing and deluxe packages for the “Guadalupe” album will be made available soon through Lo-Fidelity Records.

The 77s Announce Sticks and Stone Re-issue and Unplugged Tour

January 28, 2012
By

“Lo-Fidelity Records is pleased to announce the upcoming re-release of the classic 77s album, Sticks And Stones… Out of print since shortly after it’s original release, we will be offering the album in CD and digital format, available online and on tour in March 2012. Please stay tuned for further details in the coming weeks on the expanded track list for this classic album. In support of the release, Michael Roe and David Leonhardt are excited to again tour as 77s Unplugged where they will perform songs from Sticks And Stones and the extensive 77s catalog.

Michael and David had this to say about the upcoming tour:

“It’s been nearly 22 years since the release of Sticks And Stones and it will be exciting to have the album available again and celebrate the re-release with the fans who have loved it and supported us for all these years. I am also thrilled to be able to come play these tunes for you with my ‘ol 77s pal David Leonhardt, as we have not appeared together as a duo since the “It’s For You” tour 15 years ago. Dave and I have always had a bit of ESP going whenever we perform and we’ve missed that magical musical experience (along with the ridiculous humor) ever since.” – Michael Roe

“I am really excited to be playing again with Mike. We always have a great time together and our musical influences generate some interesting moments on stage. Sometimes it gets us in trouble, but we’ll try to avoid that. Sticks And Stones being re-released brings back lots of great memories and it will be fun to revisit those songs on the tour. That album had some of the coolest songs from that era, and this tour should be a great musical experience with Sticks And Stones as the background. Can’t wait to see all of you again!” – David Leonhardt

77s Unplugged is also pleased to be scheduled to play Cornerstone 2012. Lo-Fidelity Records will be releasing an expanded version of the classic 77s live album, “Echos O’ Faith” in time for the festival. To celebrate the re-release and 20th anniversary of the original recording, some configuration of the original “Echos O’ Faith” lineup will appear at the festival. 77s Unplugged is currently scheduled to play on the Gallery Stage on Wednesday, July 4th, at 9:35PM. Please stay tuned for updates regarding the Cornerstone performance.
