Villanelle was formerly known as [[American Zion]]. They were also more of a hard rock band before changing names.

Michael Johnston, Danny Stephens, and Byron Goggin went on to form [[Smalltown Poets]], where they re-recorded some Villanelle songs like "Call Me Christian."
