Thrash Metal
Liberty, Missouri, USA
Abhor Evil started off when the band members were 15. Their song “Zone Zong” was included on the R.E.X. Music sample Demo-lition in 1992. The band had offers from R.E.X. and Blonde Vinyl, but thy decided to go with Blonde Vinyl. They had also shifted musical direction to be more of a heavy funk metal sound. Michael Knott did not like the name of the band, so they changed it to Ethereal Soul. The members of the band were 17 when they were signed. However, on the way to record their Blonde Vinyl debut, they received a call that the label had gone bankrupt. R.E.X. and Tooth & Nail Records were still willing to sign Ethereal Soul, but they decided to continue on as an independent act.
