band Bio: “Rushing Wind is a hard rocking band with a Southern twist based out of Lafayette, Georgia. The band formed in 1990. They experienced early success with three songs from their first album, God Rules, receiving airplay on several Chattanooga stations, as one of their songs “I Never Knew You” stayed the most requested for 4 weeks, only to be replaced by a second song “Turn or Burn” for 2 weeks off the same album in the Christian Metal genre. After a break where the members pursued other musical opportunities, the band reunited and are stronger and more focused than ever. They have played many diverse venues from churches to local area bars.
Their style is hard rock but remains true to their Southern heritage. They count Lynard Skynard, AC/DC, Bon Jovi, Motley Crue, and Stryper as well as many other early rock and metal bands as their major influences. While they do some cover songs most of the music is originally written by Carl Mcgill & Rich Huff contributing to the lyrics.
The members of Rushing Wind are Rich Huff on lead vocals. Rich has more than thirty years of experience with various bands and a Worship leader in a large local church. Carl McGill is the band's lead guitarist and has also been involved in several bands and musical opportunities over the years. Joining Carl on guitars is Josh Templeton who began playing when he was just nine years old. Making the band a true family endeavor is Gina McGill the band's bass guitar player and Carl's wife. Finally the drums are covered by Ricky Parrish, known as one of the hardest playing drummers in area. Ready To Rock Your World.”
