printversion

A little delayed, as usual, but if you want to purchase a print version of the second issue, we have that available through MagCloud.  The PDF version is still free, but the print version is offered at cost through the MagCloud print-on-demand service for about $6.20 with shipping to the U.S.  It looks like there are also shipping options to Canada and the UK if that interest you.

The preview page on the MagCloud site makes the cover look like it has all of these lines through it, but I have looked at a proof and it is fine.  Find more information here:

The Second Issue is Out

January 20, 2009
By

Late enough for ya?  We are finally finished with issue 2 – click the download link for interviews with Brian Doidge, Greg lawless, Terry Taylor, and Roger Rose.  Find out what each of these artists has been up to lately.  The Brian Doidge cover story is a gripping tale of a life recovered from the pit of addiction – surely not to be missed.  For a table of contents and exclusive online article, see the January 2009 archive page!

As you can tell, we are starting to do some online exclusive content.  What does Brian Doidge think about working with Michael Knott?  Check out the article and find out!

A print version of this issue is also in the works, for those that are interested.  We are also going to start uploading older articles in to the archives section, to make them easier to find from Internet searches.  Also, if I can get the page comments function to work in the future, you will be able to leave comments on each article. Page commenting is one… so feel free to comment on online article pages as they appear. Other fun stuff is till in store, so stay tuned.  And the Gene Eugene tribute special edition is still planned, not to mention our April issue on time (we hope….)

(thanks to Steve for all the great articles again, and also to Rick McDonough for the cover image, back cover image, and Doidge article images. These guys both have serious talent…)

Slight Change of Direction

Okay… the Gene Eugene tribute was just getting too big for it’s britches.  So Steve had the idea of creating a special issue for it.  What that means is that Issue 2 will feature Brian Doidge, Greg Lawless, Roger Rose/Mad at the World, and a story about the genesis of The Lost Dogs as told by Terry Taylor.  Issue 2 is being laid out now, as I type.  Well, I guess not right now since I am typing this, but I did work on it early this morning and will continue later tonight.  So, now-ish.  A few weeks after that, a big, bad Gene Eugene tribute issue, complete with thoughts from his friends and band mates, never-before-seen photos, and even reviews of classic Adam Again discs.

And we still want to stay on track for Issue 3 in April.  That issue will feature… ummm… I think we haven’t quite figuresd that one out.  But some cool people!

Where is the Second Issue?

It is January 8th and… where is that 2nd issue?  I think we bit off a little more than we could chew.  The second issue is shaping up – it’s just not done yet.  We are planning on having it done by the end of January, if not sooner.  We just keep getting new pictures and input for the Gene Eugene tribute.  This will probably be one huge issue.  But it is still coming.  And, well – it’s free.  So no gripping about delays, okay?

Actually, our readers haven’t griped about anything, yet.  So far, so good :)

Good news is, work is also progressing on the April issue, so that issue has a chance of still being on time.

Cover Articles and Last Minute Changes

December 15, 2008
By

I’ve always wondered why some magazines are in to those flip cover deals – two covers, half of the magazine is always backwards to the others.  Now that we are working on magazines, I see why.  When you end up with several stories that would make great cover articles, sometimes it is just hard to pick.

Our second issue was shaping up to be that way, with a really good story on Brian Doidge of L.S.U. and possible story on another big band.  Not to mention a really cool image of Doidge taken by Rick McDonough of Hidden from Blackout/Struck Last May/While Rome is Burning/etc.  We did get lucky, in a way… the “big band” was really busy this month and we got to bump that story to a future issue (hopefully the March-ish issue).

Also up for this issue is a Gene Eugene tribute article and catching up with Roger Rose of Mad at the World fame.  Probably will be out sometime in early January – depending on how the holidays go!  Merry Christmas!
