Formed in 1992, the Australian pub band Eat the Menu debuted in 1995 with the LP //Bite//; after releasing the follow-up, 1996's //Whoosh//, the band changed their name to [[The Mercy Bell]] in time to issue the single "All We Can Do" the following year. //Whoosh// was re-issued by Polydor under the new band name with a couple of the tracks removed.

Rebecca Boucher Burns and Butterfly Boucher are sisters.
