====== Key Records Catalog ====== Mail Order Catalog\\ Lloyd, Florida, USA By the mid 80s, the DIY revolution (music, zines, and art) was well underway but very few were distributing alternative and underground Christian music, so in 1986, to fill a void, [[Jeani Bond]] started Key Records Catalog. It began with a few 7-inch records like [[The Lead]]'s //EP// and [[Talking Drums]] single, along with cassettes such as [[Crazed Bunnyz]] //Achtungt Musik Klirrfaktor// and [[Blackhouse]] //Hope Like a Candle//. Eventually the catalog included comic books from [[Safe Comix]] and [[James Rubino]], chapbooks from [[Jason Underground]], and [[Natch!]] zine, imported from the United Kingdom. Over the years, Key Records Catalog carried The [[Sonic Hope Records|Sonic Hope]] artists, imports from [[Sticky Music]], [[Mark Krischak]]'s bands on the new [[Key Records]] label like [[The Coolers]]' flexi-disc //Simply & Dead// and [[The Lifesavors]] //Us Kids//, among many others. The explosion of underground Christian art, music, and writing eventually received wider distribution. Outlets like [[Long's Christian Music]] in Orlando carried titles from the [[Key Records]] label. It was a time when the Xerox machine, the typewriter, the cassette recorder, and the US Mail were vital, linking underground Christians and creating a unique community of artists, writers, and musicians.
