====== Revelation ====== Progressive / Doom Metal\\ Baltimore, Maryland, USA Formed in 1985 under the name Panic. In June 1986 they changed their name to Revelation, derived from the [[Trouble]] song "Revelation (Life or Death)." In the early years the band also wrote a song titled "Social Chameleon" that was played live and appears on at least one live recording from 1987. Dennis Cornelius originally joined as second guitarist in 1993, then John Brenner left, followed by Josh Hart. Dennis asked Jim Hunter to join on bass, and this line-up produced the //...Yet So Far// album and two demos. In what was billed as a reunion set, the lineup of Branagan, Cornelius, and Hunter performed at the inaugural Stoner Hands of Doom festival in 1999. In 2007, John Brenner and Bert Hall, Jr. rejoined, and the //...Yet So Far// line-up amicably dissolved, with Jim already busy in several other bands, while Dennis formed Memory Driven. Started out as a traditional doom metal band but became increasingly progressive over time. John, Steve, and Bert also recorded and performed as Against Nature. ===== Discography ===== | 1987 | Face Reality | | 1987 | Terminal Destiny | | 1987 | Images of Darkness | | 1988 | Unreleased LP | Leaf Hound Records | | 1989 | The Illusion of Progress | | 1991 | Salvation's Answer | Rise Above Records | | 1991 | The Unbearable Vision | | 1992 | Never Comes Silence | Hellhound Records | | 1994 | Mourning Son | | 1995 | ...Yet So Far | Hellhound Records | | 1997 | Frozen Masque | | 2003 | Frozen Masque (compilation) | The Miskatonic Foundation | | 2007 | Paleontology (compilation) | Bland Hand Records | | 2008 | Release | Leaf Hound Records | | 2009 | Revelation | The Church Within Records | | 2009 | For the Sake of No One | Shadow Kingdom Records | | 2012 | Inner Harbor | Bland Hand Records | | 2015 | Blessed Realm (single) | ------ ==== Face Reality ==== 1997 Independent John Brenner - Guitars, vocals\\ Andy Kremer - Bass\\ Steve Branagan - Drums - Strange Phenomenon (1:42) - Fatal Blow (5:10) - Gnarled Remains (4:06) - Salvation's Answer (7:36) - Confusion (6:09) ------ ==== Terminal Destiny ==== 1997 Independent John Brenner - Guitars, bass, vocals\\ Steve Branagan - Drums - Something's Wrong (4:25) - Lost Innocence (5:52) - Empty Existence (8:50) ------ ==== Images of Darkness ==== 1997 Independent John Brenner - Guitars, bass, vocals\\ Steve Branagan - Drums - Lamentation (1:15) - Images of Darkness (6:20) - Salvation's Answer (7:43) - Paradox (2:52) - Waiting for... All songs are from old, deteriorating cassette tapes, so the sound is hissy and the quality mostly poor.
