Lance King's first major band was called Gemini (formed in 1986). They made it big in the Minneapolis/St. Paul metal scene. They turned down big record company offers to create their own Nightmare Records and Gemini Studio. King still runs those to this day. After things started falling apart, King formed The Kings Machine. The King's Machine comes from a lyric from the song "Out for Blood" by Gemini. After The Kings Machine, King formed [[Balance of Power]], and then many other bands such as Defyance, Legacy of the Loud, Avian, Empire, Ilium, Magic Kingdom, Pyramaze, Shining Star, Decible, and Krucible. He has also released several solo albums.
