Phil Schlotterer, Jon Sweetwood, Jon Yeager, and Dean Woods began together in 1997 around the Kansas City night club scene. Phil Schlotterer was formerly in [[DigHayZoose]]. They changed their name to [[The Daybirds]] by 1999 to release their debut CD //turnstyle//. They were reported to have a strong local following in 2000.
