Joe Albanese and Cat Albanese were formerly in Elder and Four Living Creatures.
After the demise of Elder, Joe Albanese beginning writing new music in 2001 and called the project Fell Desire. This name “refers to the strength that resides in doing what one most deeply desires, that which one is made for.”
In 2002, Joe connected with bassist Joey Ernst and began work on the songs that became Fell Desire's first and only album Love.
After this album, Joe and Cat formed a band called Ultra Monark that changed names to Land of the Living.
