Brad Currah met Sean Dimond in 1988. They met Paul Mossbarger at summer camp a couple of years later, then found Chris Magnusson and Kevin McGlothan on Craigslist. Band members claimed they gave some bone marrow to afford their demos and first album Brightface (1994). Brightface was recorded and mixed in 6 days at Robert Lang Studio in Richmond Beach, Washington. Springchamber played greater Seattle and some in Canada.
Months after splitting up as a band, two different studios offered to record, mix, and master more songs. Apparently there was no interest from the former band members. Currah decided to release a second CD and convinced everyone to record in exchange for meals. They then spent months off and on working on mixes, organizing artwork, finding duplication, securing extra mixing time, and investing in a second album called Washed Up Wee Smelt (released in 1998).
Brad Currah and Paul Mossbarger were also a part of the Mars Hill Worship Team that released Marshillworship 1 in 1998.
