PJ Bussey and Daniel Wilkinson were both members of Taker and Armageddon before forming The Calm. They also went on to form Attic Symphony after The Calm.
Ellyn Bussey played in many bands before joining Kevin Gutierrez (better known as Kevin 131) in Sorrow of Seven from 1991-1992 (which later became known as Aleixa). During this time, she also wrote some more songs and recorded them with Kevin. In 1991, she did backing vocals on a gothic metal recording project by The Drowning Season.
In 1993 she married and joined musical forces with guitarist PJ Bussey. Together they formed The Calm, releasing three recordings that stretched over a time span from 1993-1998. They also had steady club gigs during that time.
