“Twenty years in the making! Jonas and the Big Tree split in 1998, after two years working hard on over twenty original tunes. Only about half of those well-rehearsed songs ended up on either “Your Title Here” or “EP”. In 2013, on a whim, we decided to get back together and put all those songs on “tape” (hard drive!). Jon, John and Chris were never in the room at the same time while recording, but it all came back to us eventually, and this record was tracked over the course of a few months during the summers of 2013 and 2018 respectively.

It's strange to go back and revisit songs you haven't played in a long time. Specifically, it's strange to go back and sing lyrics you wrote almost twenty years ago, and then didn't think about for years. Being older gives you perspective on some of the more heavy handed thinking, and it also gives you chance to make small revisions that were necessary, but that you would have never seen at the time.

I'm glad we're giving these tunes the airing they deserve. We worked hard on 'em, working out arrangements and vocal parts. All that work pays off when you're trying to remember them.
