==== 1988 ====

  * Ronnie and Jason formed a techno band called Link of the Haunted. Pet Shop Boys was a major influence on their sound.
  * They changed their band name to [[Two Lads]].
  * Their first live performance was at a Mexican buffet for their high school's senior banquet.
  * [[Two Lads]] recorded a demo that contained the first version of "We'll Last So Long."

==== 1989 ====

  * Ronnie and Jason formed a new wave rock band and called it Chant of the Flowered Underground.
  * Ronnie played guitar, Jason played drums, and a friend of theirs named Randi Lamb played bass.
  * They changed the name of their band to [[The Chant]] and recorded one demo.
  * They changed the name to [[Morellas Forest 1988]] after signing to [[Narrowpath Records]].
  * As they played local shows, Jason's high-school friend Jeff Cloud would come watch them play.
  * Recorded one demo as [[Morellas Forest 1988]].
  * They recorded a ten-song album called //Tales// for [[Narrowpath Records]], but wanted to re-record it. Ronnie and Jason were just 18 and 16 when it was recorded.
  * //Tales// was originally scheduled to be released in Fall 1989, but was delayed.

==== 1990 ====

  * The release of //Tales// was bumped up to Spring 1990, then the Summer. [[Narrowpath Records]] went under before //Tales// could be released.
  * Ronnie and Jason formed a new electronic/techno band called [[Love Children]].
  * [[Love Children]] recorded a demo called //The Children's Symphony//.
  * Ronnie gave the [[Love Children]] demo to [[Michael Knott]]
  * Knott wanted to sign them, but under a different name. He suggested “Dance House Jesus,” but they decided to go with [[Dance House Children]].
  * [[Dance House Children]] signed to [[Blonde Vinyl Records]].

==== 1991 ====

  * [[Dance House Children]] released //Songs & Stories// for [[Blonde Vinyl Records]].

==== 1992 ====

  * [[Dance House Children]] released //Jesus// for [[Blonde Vinyl Records]].
  * Jason left [[Dance House Children]] and formed a band called [[Hester Prynnes]].
  * Jason played drums for [[Fluffy]] for about two months.
  * [[Blonde Vinyl Records]] went out of business, but [[Michael Knott]] formed [[Siren Records]] and signed Ronnie for a third [[Dance House Children]] album.

==== 1993 ====

  * [[Hester Prynnes]] recorded about 17 songs and put together a demo.
  * [[Hester Prynnes]] changed names to Starflyer 2000. Andrew Larsen was a member of Starfyler 2000, but he may have also been a member of [[Hester Prynnes]].
  * [[Dance House Children]] released //Rainbow Rider: Beautiful Dazzling Music No. 1// for [[Siren Records]].
  * Starflyer 2000 planned to record a release for [[Siren Records]], but the label folded before it was recorded.
  * Jason met Brandon Ebel at a California music festival and gave him a copy of his demo.
  * Ebel signed Jason to a short contract to [[Tooth & Nail Records]], which he had just started. At some point, Starflyer 2000 became [[Starflyer 59]].
  * Ronnie began writing his fourth album as [[Dance House Children]] - originally to be called //Beautiful Dazzling Music No. 2//.

==== 1994 ====

  * [[Starflyer 59]] released their self-titled debut album on [[Tooth & Nail Records]] on March 3, 1994. It quickly gained the nickname //Silver// for it's cover art. It was only the third release on the label.
  * Around the same time as //Silver//, [[Starflyer 59]] also released //The Drop// 7-inch on [[Tooth & Nail Records]].  
  * At some point, Ronnie signed to [[Tooth & Nail Records]] and changed the name of his band to [[Joy Electric]].
  * Early [[Tooth & Nail Records]] promotional material said [[Joy Electric]] was working on an album called //Fairy Tale Melodies// (probably a new name for //Beautiful Dazzling Music No. 2//).
  * [[Starflyer 59]] played Cornerstone in July 1994 with Jesse Sprinkle of [[Poor Old Lu]] on drums.
  * The band then went on the road with [[Mortal]] and [[The Prayer Chain]].
  * [[Starflyer 59]] recorded a cover of [[Steve Taylor]]'s "Sin for a Season" for //I Predict A Clone: A Steve Taylor Tribute// on [[R.E.X. Music]].
  * [[Joy Electric]] released //Melody// in November of 1994.
  * //She’s The Queen// EP was released by [[Tooth & Nail Records]] in December of 1994. It contained leftover songs and remixes of existing songs.

==== 1995 ====

  * Early June 1995 - "Starflyer 2000" made it's last appearance, as Jason recorded a duet with with Leigh Bingham of [[Sixpence None the Richer]] called "Leigh and Me." It was released on the //Art Core - Volume One// compilation by [[Tooth & Nail Records]].
  * Also on the [[Tooth & Nail Records]] //Art Core - Volume One// compilation was the original guitar-heavy version of "Sorcery" by [[Joy Electric]]. (Randi Lamb's [[Dear|Deer]] also had a track on that compilation called "Hidden Beauty.")
  * June 25, 1995 - [[Starflyer 59]] released their second self-titled album for [[Tooth & Nail Records]], commonly referred to as //Gold//.
  * Around the same time as //Gold//, [[Starflyer 59]] also released //Goodbyes are Sad// 7-inch on [[Tooth & Nail Records]]. 
  * September 13, 1995 - [[Starflyer 59]] released //Le Vainqueur// EP for [[Tooth & Nail Records]].
  * October 1995 - [[Joy Electric]] released //Five Stars For Failure// EP for [[Tooth & Nail Records]].
