1988
1989
- Ronnie and Jason formed rock and roll band and called it The Chant.
- Ronnie played guitar, Jason played drums, and a friend of theirs named Randi Lamb played bass.
- They recorded one demo as The Chant.
- They changed the name to Morella’s Forest after signing to Narrowpath Records.
- As they played local shows, Jason's high-school friend Jeff Cloud would come watch them play.
- Recorded one demo as Morella’s Forest.
- They recorded a ten-song album called Tales for Narrowpath Records, but wanted to re-record it.
- Tales was originally scheduled to be released in Fall 1989, but was delayed.
1990
- The release of Tales was bumped up to Spring 1990, then the Summer. Narrowpath Records went under before Tales could be released. * Ronnie and Jason formed a new electronic/techno band called Love Children. * Love Children recorded a demo called The Children's Symphony. * Ronnie gave the Love Children demo to Michael Knott * Knott wanted to sign them, but under a different name. He suggested “Dance House Jesus,” but they decided to go with Dance House Children. * Dance House Children signed to Blonde Vinyl Records. ==== 1991 ==== * Dance House Children released Songs & Stories for Blonde Vinyl Records. ==== 1992 ==== * Dance House Children released Jesus for Blonde Vinyl Records. * Jason left Dance House Children and formed a band called Hester Prynnes. * Jason played drums for Fluffy for about two months. ==== 1993 ==== * Hester Prynnes recorded about 17 songs and put together a demo. * Hester Prynnes changed names to Starflyer 2000. Andrew Larsen was a member of Starfyler 2000, but he may have also been a member of Hester Prynnes. * Dance House Children released Rainbow Rider: Beautiful Dazzling Music No. 1 for Siren Records. * Starflyer 2000 planned to record a release for Siren Records, but the label folded before it was recorded. * Jason met Brandon Ebel at a California music festival and gave him a copy of his demo. * Ebel signed Jason to a short contract to Tooth & Nail Records, which he had just started. At some point, Starflyer 2000 became Starflyer 59. ==== 1994 ==== * Starflyer 59 released their self-titled debut album on Tooth & Nail Records on March 3, 1994. It quickly gained the nickname Silver for it's cover art. It was only the third release on the label. * Starflyer 59 played Cornerstone in July 1994 with Jesse Sprinkle of Poor Old Lu on drums. * The band then went on the road with Mortal and The Prayer Chain. * She’s The Queen EP was released by Tooth & Nail Records in December of 1994. It contained leftover songs and remixes of existing songs. ==== 1995 ==== * June 25, 1995 - Second self-titled, commonly referred to as Gold.
