A Common Goal is a bit more on the melodic side of punk, while False Idle leans more towards straight ahead punk. Of course, both bands also mix melody and in your face attitude, so what do I know? This is a short ep, but the energy and conviction needed to make punk interesting are present, while the clich\u00e9s of pop punk are avoided.
