“Phoenix, AZ’s Fine China are back with “Gonna Need a Vacation,” the lead single from their new full length I Felt Called out on California indie stalwart Velvet Blue Music in March.
“Gonna Need a Vacation” immediately grabs new listeners yet still surprises longtime fans with its twisty chord shifts underpinning a classic melody, a step forward for a band known for their tight pop songwriting and lush, nostalgic sound. “…Vacation’s” fresh approach delivers a song as compellingly unpredictable as it is danceable.
The song’s wry lyrics, urging listeners to “stop feeling so emotional / start being locomotional,” strike a chord with New Year’s resolution vibes – but with a tongue-in-cheek twist, an ironic nod to the eternal quest for self-improvement.
The new single “Gonna Need a Vacation” is out now at BandCamp or on Spotify or any place you listen to music. The 2nd single “Fraught With Danger” will be out on 2/14, followed by the full length I Felt Called on 3/07. Pre-order of full length is available now as well.”
