From Julio Rey: “It’s a relief to finally be able to let you know that the latest Frank’s Enemy EP, Postmerican, is done, and the CDs are preordering right now.
If you’ve been following FE on Bandcamp, you know I’ve been wrestling with these four songs for nearly two years. I had meant for this EP to kind of be an addendum to The Terrible Days which in itself was an addendum to Abnormalized. It seems with every CD I’ve compiled since 2020 there’s been an undercurrent of attempting to soundtrack the increasingly insane times we’re living in. I keep thinking the last word has been said and then more things keep coming up. Which is why subject of the CD cover was rendered by his own AI, Grok, with a little extra enhancement from me. No other vibe fits.
Musically, Postmerican is the culmination of my dabbling in hip hop production values and influences, hints of which had begun to pop up in the previous two releases, alongside the usual grindcore/hardcore stuff. which I dispensed with for this one.”
