“In 1994, Fatal Blast Whip was started as a project experimenting with sound without limit or boundary. At first it was difficult to put the music in a category. Their intention was to invent a future sound. A few footsteps were involved in this process. Influenced from other sources through manipulating audio wave production, they were experimenting with sounds that had not been covered up to that point in time. They used analogue devices (going against the law of production) to come up with new distorted sounds compiled into music. Presently, they use the “Intel” way of sorting out digital audio that is unlimited and the best quality. To this day they are on a quest to find the sound of Mankind's not so distant future. The signature sound they designed is what's called “FATAL BLAST WHIP.” At first an attempt to exceed the terms of gothic and industrial, it has since evolved beyond the edge into the rapid changing world of dark music. The music is a pure manipulation & exploitation of synthetic sounds. Static-charged noisescapes, frenzied rhythm and duel vocalists are layered atop an electro-cosmic foundation. Fatal Blast Whip has a large following and a massive press kit. They service thousands of international press and have appeared on several major compilation appearances ranging from Ora Music, Blacklight Records, and Star Crash Records compilations. Fatal Blast Whip's “Invasion (X-Files Remix)” - available on Blacklight Records Terra Firma vs. The Atmosphere compilation - charted #1 on MP3.COM for 6 weeks along with other tracks at #2 and #3. They have worked with many artists like Battery, Scar Tissue, Torn Skin, Nude (Front 242), Sabotage, Joshua Bourke, Pivot Clowj, and many more. Fatal Blast Whip is also involved in several other things including owning Star Crash Records and side projects like I.V.88, Sleep Hollow, and Joshua Bourke.”
“The mysterious band known as Fatal Blast Whip enjoyed popularity in the electronic and goth underground at the turn of the millennium. The members of the band were mysterious and tended to keep a low profile. Fatal Blast Whip is not a specifically Christian band, but it has released songs on Christian industrial samplers and has had christian members such as Joshua Bourke from time to time.
Fatal Blast Whip's sound fused the ominous, dark electro sound popularized by Skinny Puppy, globalWAVEsystem, and Wumpscut with experimental effects and goth imagery to form an edgy, industrial dance style.
Most vocals consist of harsh, low whispers that are difficult to decipher, but song titles, the use of samples from science fiction movies and television series, including “Independence Day” and “Star Trek” and cover artwork reveal a futuristic, cyberpunk theme.
Fatal Blast Whip officially disbanded around 2001. A planned “sequel” project, Fatal Blast War, never materialized. The band re-formed around 2006 with all new members.”
