“This is the earliest songs from Fringe. They were recorded in Jackson MS. My brother (Joel) hosted us and he can throw a party. His youth group showed up frothing at the mouth, ready for a live recording of a band named “Fringe.” Its high energy and way up-tempo cause, well, there was a lot of crazy kids, and this was just our fourth gig.
Dan Helmintoller, a good friend and local producer, recorded this project, and Shawn Harnish - soon to be our guitarist - and I, mixed it in the early AM hours in some dark studio in Buffalo NY.
These songs are also the only recordings we have with Dominick Renaldo who was Fringes first bass player. Dom was an incredible musician and particularly fun to watch play live as his body was never in time, but his fingers did just fine. At the time, Fringe was a three piece that included my best friend and genius drummer, Eric Perry. Eric is the fella that introduced me to a click, but that was after the live recording…
The cover art came from a photo of us in our practice space in a barn in Western NY.”

“This was Fringe's first full-length studio project. The album was a gigantic 14 track rollercoaster. It was recorded in a little studio in a little town in Western NY. It was an exciting time and a great experience. We would work through the night at the studio while Shawn Harnish - electric guitars - played the role of engineer. Eric Perry - drums - would go into the live room and complain between takes about how cold it was in there.
After agonizing for months over art work, in the end, the answer had been staring the band in the face all along. There was a painting of Jesus, looking somewhat vagabond-ish in the studio. When Shawn showed up one day with a mock up of the painting as the cover art, the band unanimously agreed.
Kurry Spencer played Bass for this album and Fringe had several guests including Jesse Sprinkle and John Stevens. Eventually the album was picked up and distributed by Gray Dot Records / Bulletproof Music. The Album was released in 2000.”

“This album was Fringe's second studio record. Written and recorded by Fringe, it was produced by Randy Everett from Terminal studios in Jackson MS, and mixed by John Hampton at Ardent Studio’s in Memphis TN.
Fringe had several guests in the studio. Jason’s sister, Aimee Perry, sang on a couple tracks and really adds to “Sacrifice.” Jason’s wife, Karen, also makes a beautiful appearance on that song. Albert Lamar played the flute on “One More Day To There” and makes it the bands favorite song. Jason’s favorite moment on the album is when Randy Everett played the haunting guitar solo in the middle of “Keep Me.”
Sadly, this album was never released. The label lost its distribution just as the band was wrapping up the recording. The label sought a new distribution deal but eventually dissolved.
The album, against the bands wishes, went to press under the title Sacrifice. It also had a slightly disturbing boy band picture of Fringe on the cover, again not what they wanted. Even so, the label was a wonderful group of people who greatly believed in Fringe and sacrificed along with the band to see their musical aspirations realized.
However, on this webpage, history has been re-written. The band had wanted the title One More Day to There. As far as cover art, the painting by Magdalena Wanli perfectly captures the beautiful hope the band felt while recording this album.
The album was completed in 2002 and has yet to be officially released. ”
