Revelation
Progressive / Doom Metal
Baltimore, Maryland, USA
Formed in 1985 under the name Panic. In June 1986 they changed their name to Revelation, derived from the Trouble song “Revelation (Life or Death).”
In the early years the band also wrote a song titled “Social Chameleon” that was played live and appears on at least one live recording from 1987.
Dennis Cornelius originally joined as second guitarist in 1993, then John Brenner left, followed by Josh Hart. Dennis asked Jim Hunter to join on bass, and this line-up produced the …Yet So Far album and two demos.
In what was billed as a reunion set, the lineup of Branagan, Cornelius, and Hunter performed at the inaugural Stoner Hands of Doom festival in 1999.
In 2007, John Brenner and Bert Hall, Jr. rejoined, and the …Yet So Far line-up amicably dissolved, with Jim already busy in several other bands, while Dennis formed Memory Driven.
Started out as a traditional doom metal band but became increasingly progressive over time.
John, Steve, and Bert also recorded and performed as Against Nature.

“These are demos and rehearsals from the earliest days of Bert and John playing music together in 1983, to John's 4-track recordings at home, through the preparations for the Never Comes Silence release in 1992. All songs are from old, deteriorating cassette tapes, so the sound is hissy and the quality mostly poor. It was available for free download at Bland Hand Records website.”
