Rockin’ Rabbis
Alternative Rock
Kenwick, Western Australia
From Google Play: “Sean Diggins once suggested that imagining “Devo [meeting] the tubes on an episode of Captain Scarlet and the Mysterons beneath incisive satirical commentary from Johnny Rotten with a twist of acid” would have you well on the way to pinning down the music of Rockin' Rabbis.
Rockin' Rabbis were birthed late in 1987 and within a very short time they were packing venues with zany stage antics and musical mayhem.
Rockin' Rabbis recorded three albums. The first two, Noisy Little Sunbeams (1988) and Almost Live in the Batshed (1989), were recorded in a suburban shed and The Gospel Thrash Blues Cowpunk Humans from Another Millennium (1992) was recorded in 48hrs straight at Planet Studios with legendary John Villani and Ainslie Grosser.
The line-up changed a bit over the years, but the mainstays were Owen (the Sugarman) Beck on vocals and bass, Tim (Timmy Too Sweet) Halse on vocals and guitar and slide, Clive (Rockabilly) Smith on vocals and guitar and Ross (Rosco) White on drums. The juxtaposition of sweet female vocal harmonies were performed by various rabbettes over the years.
The band gradually wound down in 1993 and were resurrected for a single reunion gig in 2003. Description provided by artist representative”
