Sean Thomas Eugene
Alternative Rock
Minnesota, USA
Sean Thomas Eugene is an early name for Sean Severson of And How fame. He also used his own name interchangeably with Sean Thomas Eugene before switching to And How around 2010. According to a review of Groundhog Day in Visions of Gray, he put out about 4 albums a year. So there are probably many more albums to add to the discography.

“In 2024 I had saved up enough to buy a Savage Mach 6 amp.
The combined sound of my Les Paul Jr. and the Mach 6 inspired me to quickly make an album that would feature this “new” tone in my world….well, that and probably having nothing better to do with my evenings.”

Each of these songs were taken from 10 different CD albums that I did under the name “Sean Thomas Eugene” from 2000-2005.
They were mainly recorded on a 70's Tascam 8-track reel to reel deck, or sometimes on a Tascam 4-track cassette recorder (depending on how the 8 -track was working, or how available tape was). All recorded in a little room off of my bedroom at my little house I used to have a million years ago.
These are some of the songs that I still kinda like something about.

“I never look back fondly to the 6 albums I made in these years.
My reel to reel 8 -track was pretty shot. Heads worn down from recording hundreds of songs by then, and sounding very lo-fi due to to that as well as the crummy old brittle tape that was all I could find at the time, AND that never did all 8 tracks decide to work during any song. I remember having played my lead vocal and guitar at the same time into one mic ( to save on tracks) and having muffled playback in the headphones, both leading to a very loose/ sloppy feel to most songs. I was in an awkward musical phase to go along with tons of changes happening in my life.
By 2009 my recorder was sounding much better after nursing it back to somewhat health only to have it go belly up by 2010.
Against my memory, some of these songs are better than I remember.
Good luck trying to enjoy this extra-sad-sack era of And How!
GO TEAM!”
