“Greetings Friends!
Nate here. I celebrated my 33rd birthday on Monday. This means Tessa and I have been best friends for over 10 years. She took me out to BBQ and ended the night playing board games with friends. It was a lot of fun.
When we ended our last major tour in 2012, Tessa suggested I start a solo project since I write about 10 songs to her one. What began as some quiet songs on an acoustic guitar eventually gave birth to a full band (The Pac-Away Dots) and a rock n’ roll record with heavy flushes of blues and folk called Take Out The Trash.
I’ve brooded over this project for over a year and a half, and it is time to send it out into the world. These songs are the most vulnerable music I have ever released. When performing it live, I find myself dealing with an entirely different set of emotions than when performing as Destroy Nate Allen.
Today marks the start of the album pre-order on Kickstarter. If you’re not familiar with Kickstarter, it is a crowd-funding platform that allows people to participate in the creation of art that they love. It’s also an all-or-nothing platform so if we don’t make our goal by November 5th then we don’t receive any of the money.
We have come up with some really great prizes including a compilation playlist “mixtape” of over 30 bands, laser etched mason jars, and custom greeting cards to keep things interesting. Take Out The Trash will be available on CD and VINYL.
