Band was formerly named Oasis until they saw the British band with the same name and changed names in March of 1995. In the fall of 1995 the band started playing more across the state, opening for bands like The Waiting and Jars of Clay. In the Summer of 1996 the band entered and won Best Performance Group for the GMA Southeast Regional competition. This win earned them a spot to perform with the other finalists in Nashville, Tennessee that Fall. This prompted the band to start looking at a possible move to Music City.

By May of 1997, the band decided to relocate to Nashville, Tennessee. In May they held a farewell concert in Florida to give thanks to all who supported them. Shane Akers also announced that he was leaving the band. With the move, the band also announced a new name: Jesse's Vineyard.
