M-Edge

Industrial
Birmingham, Alabama, USA

“Industrial dance outfit M-Edge was the second project fronted by Birmingham, Alabama DJ and musician Patrick Mauldin, who had previously recorded as Assembly Line and is now forms one-man trance outfit Fitzpatrick. The first, and only full-length CD released under this endeavor, Demo, was a collaboration with friend David Jolley and thanked God by listing “The Trinity” as a third member and giving Him billing for “all inspiration, musical composition and concepts.”

Despite its title, the 7-song Demo had a semi-professional appearance with Asian-influenced cover art, and featured a club-friendly sound that was equal parts danceable EBM and crunchy industrial rock. Mauldin typical sung in a menacing, near-whisper vocal style about spiritual warfare and the difficulties of living as a Christian in a fallen, sinful world. The tracks “Dead Run” and “Sector 3,” however, were dark electro instrumentals.

Mauldin retired M-Edge shortly after 2000.”
